G0430 (Drug screen,
qualitative; multiple drug classes other than chromatographic method, each
procedure) is a replacement for CPT code 80100.
Effective for dates of service on or after January 1, 2010, CPT code 80100
will no longer be active. This CPT
coding change was made to limit billing to one (1) time per procedure and to
remove the limitation of method (chromatographic) which made CPT 80100
inappropriate in many instances.
Effective for dates
of service on or after January 1, 2010, G0431 (Drug screen, qualitative; single
drug class method (e.g. immunoassay, enzyme assay), each drug class) is a
direct replacement for CPT code 80101.
Use CPT code 80102
for drug confirmation.
