Percutaneous lysis
of epidural adhesions involves the placement of an epidural catheter that may
remain in place over several days for the purpose of lysis
of adhesions. Procedure code 62263 is
not reported for each adhesiolysis treatment, but
should be reported once to describe the entire series of
injections/infusions spanning two or more treatment days. Procedure code 62264
is reported for adhesiolysis treatment to describe
complete treatment provided in one day.
Procedure code
62263/62264 or 64999 when used to report endoscopic lysis of epidural adhesions includes the injection of
contrast material for epidurography and subsequent
fluoroscopic guidance and localization performed in association with sequential
adhesiolysis treatment(s). Therefore, a separate payment will not be
made for procedure code 77003 or any other imaging modality when reported with
procedure code 62263/62264 or 64999 (when used to report endoscopic lysis of adhesions).
